George Beardoe Grundy (1861-1948) was a classicist, and for many years a Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. At the end of the Great War, when he was approaching 60, he turned to the study of the vernacular boundary-clauses in Anglo-Saxon charters, maintaining a steady stream of publications, county by county, for the next twenty years.
G. B. Grundy, Fifty-five Years at Oxford: an Unconventional Autobiography (London, 1945).
Grundy's heavily annotated copy of Birch's Cartularium Saxonicum was acquired in November 1992 by Patrick Wormald. It was sold with the rest of PW's library in 2006, and is now penes SDK in the Department of ASNC, Cambridge.
For a list of Grundy's publications on charter boundaries, see Sawyer's Anglo-Saxon Charters (1968), pp. 9-10, and the Electronic Sawyer.
