Kemble's Grave

Kemble died on a visit to Dublin in March 1857, and was buried in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Harold's Cross, Dublin. A memorial to him was erected there in 1862-3.

The inscription reads as follows:

JOHN MITCHELL KEMBLE

Archæologist  Philologer Historian

Died in Dublin

March 1857

Aged 49 Years

Erected by

His Friends and Admirers
